To configure a WAN connection using the Network Configuration Manager, follow these steps:
To define and configure an ISDN terminal adapter, select Hardware Add new WAN device Add new WAN device. If outgoing calls are enabled, this adds an entry for the device to the /etc/uucp/Devices file.
If you want to configure UUCP, PPP or SLIP over a dedicated serial line, see ``Configuring serial ports''.
The facility to obtain the caller's telephone number or the telephone number that was called is sometimes not available with ISDN lines. Your telephone company may provide this service for an additional charge.
To quickly configure the details of an outgoing PPP link to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or to a remote access server belonging to an organizational intranet, select Wizard Add within the PPP Manager, then select Outgoing -- Internet/Intranet, and click on Start to invoke the PPP Outgoing Connection Wizard.
To quickly configure a system as a remote access server for incoming PPP access by remote users, select Wizard Add within the PPP Manager, then select Incoming -- Remote Access Server, and click on Start to invoke the PPP Incoming Connection Wizard.
To configure incoming and outgoing SLIP links, select Software Configure SLIP.
