Installing, managing, and removing software
You can install software designed for your UnixWare system
from CD-ROM, disk, cartridge tape, an install server over
the network, or from files stored in a local or remote filesystem.
The UnixWare system provides the following tools to
install, manage, and remove software:
Graphical environment-
The
Application Installer
allows you to easily add, view,
and remove software packages and sets from media or another system.
It handles most common software management tasks.
Command line environment-
The pkg* commands provide a superset of
Application Installer capabilities, including
enhanced verification and error handling tools.
