Removing software
You might need to remove a package or set for the following reasons:
-
You are preparing to install a new version of the package.
It is good practice to remove the old package before
you begin installing the new one.
-
You need to remove a partially installed package due to a
previous installation failure.
-
You need more space on your system to install new packages.
NOTE:
When limited space is available on the hard disk, it may not be possible to
remove unwanted packages to free up more space. Try to install only packages
that are actually required.
You can use either the
Application Installer
or the
pkgrm command
to remove software.
