Client-side administration
To administer cr1 for a service on the client side, you
must do the following:
-
Set up /etc/net/transport/hosts
to include the remote system's name and address.
If the connection is over TCP/IP,
use the /etc/hosts and
the /etc/services files.
-
Set up /etc/net/transport/services:
-
Add the service and its port address.
-
Add
reportscheme
and its address.
NOTE:
For information about the hosts and services files, see
hosts(4tcp)
If the connection is not over TLI, the connection server searches for the
address of the service in the BNU Systems and Devices files.
See the discussion of BNU files in
``Administering BNU''.
-
Make sure the connection server
and the key management daemon are running.
NOTE:
An initialization script starts both
the connection server and the key management daemon.
If the connection server has been stopped manually, use
the
cs
command
to restart it.
For more information about starting
and stopping the connection server, see
``Administering the connection server''.
Starting and stopping the key management daemon
is described in
``Managing the daemon and the master key''
-
Add a shared key for the server
to the client's key database.
