Configuring audio adapters
You can configure an audio adapter on your UnixWare 7 system
to run audio-enabled applications.
Two separate activities are required:
-
Physically install the adapter, speaker system, and any input
devices, following the instructions in the
hardware documentation.
-
Run the
Audio Configuration Manager
to configure the audio subsystem software.
The audio configuration window displays the configured adapters.
NOTE:
Do not use the
DCU
to configure audio adapters; see
``Audio device entries in the Resource Manager database''
for more information.
You can only configure a single audio adapter in UnixWare 7
systems.
Most audio device configuration should be completed using the
Audio Configuration Manager. However, you must
use the PnP Configuration Manager if you want to
configure:
-
new Plug and Play audio devices that are not recognized by the
Audio Configuration Manager but are compatible with
supported models
-
non-audio devices on the audio adapter board (such as
IDE or SCSI ports)
See
``Configuring Plug and Play devices''
for more information.
This topic describes how to use the
Audio Configuration Manager
to configure audio adapters.
