Adding and modifying audio configurations

To add a new audio adapter:

1. Physically install the audio adapter in your system.

2. Start the Audio Configuration Manager.

3. Click on Add Adapter in the Soundcard menu.

4. When the adapter list displays, select the audio adapter that you want to configure, then click on OK. You have the option to configure any adapter auto-detected in your system or any of the supported adapters; currently only ISA Plug-and-Play adapters can be auto-detected.

5. Supply the device-specific configuration parameters required by your adapter. If you select values that are already in use, a Possible Conflicts window will display conflicts found in the Resource Manager. You can re-edit or accept your selections; see also ``Audio device entries in the Resource Manager database''.

6. When the adapter has been configured, click on Test in the Soundcard menu to confirm that the adapter was configured correctly. You should hear an uninterrupted sound sample. Click on Stop when you have completed the test.

7. Click on OK to confirm your selection and exit the Audio Configuration Manager.

To modify an audio configuration:

1. Start the Audio Configuration Manager.

2. Click on Modify Adapter in the Soundcard menu.

3. Select your adapter from the display, then reset any required configuration parameters.

4. Test your modified configuration.

5. Confirm your selection and exit the Audio Configuration Manager.
