The SCO LLI (Link Layer Interface) package provides a standard driver interface mechanism for network adapters on Open Desktop Release 2.0 and 3.0. The SCO LLI specification defines an interface that is similar to the SCO SVR5 1 and 2 Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI), which evolved from AT&T's original LLI interface standard. Some minor differences in the SCO LLI interface exist in order to retain backwards compatibility with AT&T's LLI standard. DLPI drivers for AT&T System V Release 3.2 systems should require only minor modifications to conform to SCO LLI.
The MDI supersedes LLI for SCO OpenServer 5 and SVR5 systems. Porting LLI drivers to MDI is a straight-forward process that mainly involves removing code; see ``Porting network adapter drivers to MDI 2''.
