In all security profiles,
a UID can be reused (recycled) after 12 months have elapsed.
To adjust this limit, change the value of
the UIDAGE parameter in the
/etc/default/userdel file using the
System Defaults Manager
or the
defadm(1M)
command:
defadm userdel UIDAGE=n
Here n is the number of months before a UID can be reassigned. A value of -1 prevents reassignment at any subsequent date; a value of 0 allows immediate reassignment.
