Administering user accounts

Changing user login shells

In the Account Manager, select a user name, then select Users -> Modify. Enter a login shell or select one from the list of available login shells.

To change the system default login shell, select Options -> User Defaults.

WARNING: Changing default values may compromise systemwide security parameters set by the SCOadmin Security Manager.

Each shell has one or more environment files specific to that shell, for details see:

The SCOadmin Account Manager does not set up a proper .login file for new csh users. csh users wishing to use SCOadmin tools should add the following line to their .login:

   eval `/usr/lib/scoadmin/account/setenv -c $HOME`
See csh(1) for full information.
