Correcting differences while checking accuracy (pkgchk -n -f)

To correct file attributes when discrepancies are found, invoke pkgchk(1M) with the -f and the -n options:

pkgchk -n -f pkg_name

pkg_name is the name of the package to correct.

When you issue pkgchk with these options, it attempts to correct any differences between the package components and the installation database or, if the -m and -e options are used, between the components and the original pkgmap and pkginfo files.

NOTE: Specify the -n option so that no attempt is made to correct volatile files, which have undergone legitimate changes as a result of system activity, and which should not be set back to their original state.
