If you allocate resources in the Edit window which are in conflict with those used by another device on your system, the Possible Conflicts window appears when you click on OK.
This window provides a list of hardware configured on your system, along with an indication of the conflicting parameters. For example, if you allocate IRQ 5 to a sound adapter when it is used by your tape drive, the Possible Conflicts window appears with the conflicting value indicated.
From this window, you can:
This returns you to the Edit window, where you can try another set of resource allocations or change the conflicting resource to another acceptable value.
Do this when you are reconfiguring an existing adapter and driver, or when you know that the conflict is acceptable; for example, some devices can successfully share interrupt vectors.
After you return to the main window, Apply any changes.
