Configuring audio adapters

Configuring audio adapters

You can configure an audio adapter on your UnixWare 7 system to run audio-enabled applications. Two separate activities are required:

  1. Physically install the adapter, speaker system, and any input devices, following the instructions in the hardware documentation.

  2. Run the Audio Configuration Manager to configure the audio subsystem software. The audio configuration window displays the configured adapters.

NOTE: Do not use the DCU to configure audio adapters; see ``Audio device entries in the Resource Manager database'' for more information.

You can only configure a single audio adapter in UnixWare 7 systems.

Most audio device configuration should be completed using the Audio Configuration Manager. However, you must use the PnP Configuration Manager if you want to configure:

See ``Configuring Plug and Play devices'' for more information.
