When a package fails to install for any reason, the GUI may still report that the set of packages that contains it was installed successfully. The message reporting the failure is generated by pkgadd(1M).
Similarly, if the removal of a package fails, the GUI does not report the failure. The icon for the set of packages goes away and is not replaced by the package icon for the package that is still on the system.

Icons representing packages in the set appear.
A window appears containing installable icons representing application programs contained in the package.
An icon for the selected application program is copied to the appropriate folder.
