devnm --
device name
Synopsis
/usr/sbin/devnm [name . . .]
Description
The devnm command identifies the special file
associated with the locally mounted disk file system
where the argument name resides.
One or more names can be specified.
devnm does not identify the special file on
memfs filesystems, under ODM, or on
other pseudo-filesystems.

Usage
The devnm command
is most commonly used by the brc command
to construct a mount table entry for the root device.
devnm uses the file /etc/devnm.path to
determine the device search path.
The default entries in this file are /dev/dsk
and /dev/rdsk.
Examples
The command:
/usr/sbin/devnm /home
produces:
/dev/dsk/c0b0t0d0s3 /home
if /home is mounted on /dev/dsk/c0b0t0d0s3.
