Creating a new boot partition
The
fdisk
command can be used to create new partitions.
There may be up to four different partitions
on your system and these may be
of varying types (UnixWare, DOS, OS/2, other).
Use this procedure to create a new boot partition:
CAUTION:
Creating a new bootable partition on an installed system almost always
requires re-sizing existing partitions.
When you alter existing partition sizes,
all data on the hard disk is destroyed.
If you must re-partition your system, be sure to perform a
complete system backup of all existing partitions first.
After you create the new bootable partition, you will have
to re-install your system and restore your data.
