Tunable parameters

Parameter descriptions and values

In this topic, tables are provided which show default, minimum and maximum values for each tunable parameter. Descriptions of tunable parameters are also provided.

In the tables, parameters that are autotuned by default are identified in the column marked ``Auto'' by ``PHYS'' or ``KVM,'' depending upon the autotuning method used. If only the maximum value is autotuned; then the Auto column also contains an entry ``Max only.'' Values for systems with various amounts of physical memory (in megabytes) are given, separated by a ``/.'' If only one value is given, that value applies for each amount of memory noted.

NOTE: Many of the tunable parameters are used by device drivers or other kernel functions that are part of add-on packages, such as the Network Support Utilities (NSU) add-on package. If a package is not installed, adjusting the parameter values will have no effect on your system configuration.
