Process control and scheduling

Adding or modifying a task

In the Task Scheduler:

  1. To schedule a new task, select Task -> Add Task. To alter an existing task, double-click on a task or highlight it and select Task -> Modify Task.

  2. Enter information as follows:

    Command
The name of the program you want to run. If you do not provide a full pathname, the system assumes that the program is in your home directory.

    Schedule Type
When you wish the program to be executed:

    Day of Week
If selected, a Time selection and a Day of Week list are displayed.

    Date
If selected, Time and Date selections are displayed. Use Every Month or Every Day to override the date value and have the program run every day or month.

    Time
The time you want the program to run (in hours and minutes, based on a 24-hour clock). For example, if you want the program to run at 6:00 P.M., enter 18:00. Select Every Hour or Every Minute to override the time value and have the program run every hour or minute.

  3. When your selections are complete, click on OK. The task is now scheduled.
