Administering privilege

The privilege policy

The privilege policy provides the rules for recalculating which privileges a process possesses. It defines both when and how the recalculation takes place.

The privilege policy rules for this release function exactly the same as the superuser; a process with an effective UID of 0 is recognized as the all-privileged superuser. The policy also provides additional flexibility by allowing the association of fixed privileges with executable files.
