Administering privilege

Displaying privilege information

To display the privilege information for a file, use the filepriv command with the desired filenames but without any options.

You must have access to the file for which you wish to display. The filepriv command does not inherit privilege.

To display privilege information, for a file, perform the following:

  1. Enter

    filepriv file_name

This example shows how to display the privileges associated with the executable /sbin/buzz.

   # filepriv /sbin/buzz
   fixed dacread
   #

Displaying privileges of an executable file

This shows that the /sbin/buzz executable has the fixed privilege dacread.
