Creating SCOadmin wizards
The wizard framework consists of a set of routines that
supplement the SCOadmin framework, allowing you to create
a specific type of SCOadmin application known as a
``wizard''. Wizards represent a common, form-based
mechanism for obtaining user input necessary to perform a
system management task. The user is asked to complete
all the questions on all forms before any operation is
taken by the wizard.
Unlike SCOadmin managers, which are used to perform a
wide variety of tasks, wizards are intended to be
single-purpose tools. Although the operations they perform
can be complex, wizards simplify a task by prompting the
user for the information necessary to perform the task.
For example, the SCOadmin Setup Wizard sets up
system owners and the necessary remote access permissions
(user equivalence) for system owners to administer a set
of machines. Without this wizard, the user would have to
run the Account Manager several times with as
many menu selections to accomplish the same task.
