In all but the smallest classes the OSA writer will want to break up the operation and filter procedures. Procedures to get values from certain attributes can be used by both the get operation and the filter procedure. Such functions are referred to as ``helper procedures''. They are internal to the OSA and are not directly called by the Server API.
See (3sadm) - SCOadmin services C library for manual pages describing the Server API helper functions available to C/C++ OSA programmers.
See (3tlib) - SCOadmin services Tcl library contains manual pages describing the SCOadmin services library functions.
