SCO OpenServer and UnixWare 7 support the NetBIOS interface developed for SCO OpenServer; this interface consists of a STREAMS module and daemon for managing NetBIOS connections with other systems. SCO UnixWare 2.1.X does not support this interface.
Applications compiled with the UnixWare and OpenServer Development Kit that use this interface will run on either UnixWare 7 or SCO OpenServer; on SCO UnixWare 2.1.X, an application that uses this interfaces will fail.
Source code that uses this interface will compile on UnixWare 7 and SCO OpenServer without any modifications.
The X/Open Transport Interface functions support using NetBIOS as a transport provider for server and client connections that access the services of any NetBIOS provider on the network. Since NetBIOS is not a set of functions defined in a library, there is no interface compatibility table for NetBIOS. See ``Developing applications over NetBIOS using XTI'' for a description of how to write clients and servers that use XTI over NetBIOS.
