Security issues
The UnixWare 7 system employs the concept of ``privileges'' to control
both the access that users have to information stored in files, and the
ability of users to execute certain commands. Users who have been
granted permission to execute administrative commands, or access system
files, are said to be ``privileged'' users. A user can be granted all
privileges, or only a subset. Privileges are particularly important in
the area of system administration, because unauthorized changes to
system files and use of commands can adversely affect the productivity
of users and the usability of the operating system.
