ID mapping

ID Mapping is a facility to standardize and centralize the mapping of remote identification information to its local counterpart. ID Mapping consists of:

• a database of identities (attributes) to be mapped

• a set of commands to administer those databases

• a set of library routines for applications to use to interpret the information in those databases

The library interfaces to ID Mapping are:

• namemap(3iac) to map user names

• attrmap(3iac) to map user attributes

These interfaces are found in libiaf.so.
