Mouse support
Users can perform a number of tasks with the SELECT
button of a mouse when an FMLI application
runs in an xterm (character terminal emulator)
window in AT&T's XWIN X Window System implementation.
SELECT is the leftmost button of a right-handed mouse,
the rightmost button of a left-handed mouse.
SLKs-
Instead of pressing a screen-labeled key, you can point the mouse
at the screen label corresponding to the key, then
press and release the button.
If you press the button on one label
and release it on another, that is, if you
move the mouse while the button is pressed,
FMLI selects the label on which the button was released.
You can cancel a button press by pointing the mouse
outside any label and releasing the button.
Menus-
To make a menu item current, point the mouse at the item
and press the button.
If you point the mouse at a different
item before releasing the button, that item
is made current, the previous item made non-current.
To select a current item in a single-select menu,
or to mark a current item in a multi-select menu,
release the button.
You can cancel a button press by pointing
the mouse outside the menu and releasing the button.
Forms-
To make a form field current,
point the mouse anywhere in the field,
then press and release the button.
If you press the button in one field and release
it in another, FMLI makes current the field in which
the button was released.
Cancel a button press by pointing the
mouse outside the form and releasing the button.
Scrolling-
To scroll a frame,
point the mouse at the appropriate scroll box indicator,
then press and release the button.
If you press the button on one indicator
and release it on the other, FMLI selects
the indicator on which the button was released.
Cancel a button press by moving
the mouse outside the scroll box and releasing the button.
Frame Navigation-
To make a frame current, point the
mouse anywhere in the frame and press the button.
If the mouse points
at a menu item, that item is made current;
releasing the button will
cause FMLI to select or mark the item.
If the mouse points at a form field,
releasing the button will cause FMLI to make that field current.
If you want only to make the frame current,
point the mouse at the title bar,
then press and release the button.
Frame Management-
To move a current frame,
select frm-mgmt in the Command Menu,
then move in the frame management menu.
Point the mouse at the position on the screen
where you want the upper left-hand
corner of the frame to appear, then press and release the button.
You can press the button before pointing the mouse;
FMLI will select the screen position at which the button was released.
To reshape a current menu or text frame
(recall that you cannot reshape a form),
select reshape in the frame management menu.
Point the mouse at the position on the screen
where you want the upper left-hand corner of the frame to appear,
then press and release the button.
Now point the mouse at the position on the screen
where you want the lower right-hand corner of the frame to
appear, then press and release the button.
You can press the button before pointing the mouse;
FMLI will select the screen positions at which the button was
released.
