Configuring Hewlett-Packard network printers
UnixWare provides support for Hewlett-Packard® Ethernet printers, which
connect directly to the network using a built-in network card. The network
interface on such printers is that commonly known as JetDirect®.
The following tasks are involved in the setup of HPNP
services:
-
set up a BOOTP server, the host that performs the HPNP
configuration
-
configure the HPNP print services for each host that will
use the printer
HPNP support is configured using an installation script and the
following utilities:
The following topics describe these tasks and utilities in detail.
NOTE:
Configuration of Hewlett-Packard Ethernet printers is not
supported from within the graphical interface-based managers supplied
with UnixWare.
