The lpstat -o command hangs
The lpstat -o option can hang when the printer name argument
refers to a remote printer. This could be due to:
-
incorrect remote printer configuration
-
remote
lpsched(1M)
is not reachable
In the former case, check the spelling of the printer names in
/etc/lp/Systems, and the protocols identified as being in use by
both the local and the remote systems.
For the latter, check that lpsched is running on the remote system,
and that the two systems can correctly communicate with each other.
