The Intranet Management System
The Intranet Management System (IMS) is a tool that
enables the system administrator to monitor use of the network, and to
detect and diagnose problems. It is graphically-based, and allows the user
to query, display and configure network management database values. It
accesses the Management Information Base (MIB)
structures employed by SNMP to store details of nodes present
on the network. Also supported are facilities for logging trap events.
More information on SNMP, its command line interface, and the
format of MIB files is available from
``Configuring the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)''.
