The public key database file
The RPC domain master server controls the Secure RPC information which
is kept in the database file /etc/publickey.
For each Secure RPC user known to a master server, this file contains:
-
operating system name
-
user ID
-
RPC domain name
-
public key
-
secret key
The RPC built-in security protocol requires access to
the public/secret key pairs stored in this file.
The triple (operating system, user ID, RPC domain name)
indexes a unique pair of keys.
NOTE:
The user ID field in /etc/publickey may also be a host name.
This allows more than one root user per domain.
See
``Adding RPC users''
for a description of how to administer this file.
