If you send something with uucp and there is line trouble or some other configuration error, it may take up to 24 hours before uucp reports an error.
You should remember that uucp attempts to place a call to a remote system at five minute intervals. For this reason, we recommend that you attempt to log in to the remote system via cu before attempting a file transfer via uucp.
