Message store
UnixWare provides a message store system, used by the MUAs
and sendmail to increase performance when reading and
writing mail folders.
Message store options can be configured in the following ways:
-
On a system-wide basis, using the Mail Manager.
This alters the file /etc/default/mail and sets the system
defaults. See
``Managing folder configuration''
for more details.
-
On a per-user basis, in $HOME/.maildefs, which, if present,
overrides the settings in /etc/default/mail for that user.
The UnixWare sendmail system supplies a programming interface
for the creation of message store applications. This is described in full in
Message store programming.
For more information on the message store see
UNRESOLVED XREF-0.
