Configuring serial ports

Viewing configured serial ports

To view configured serial ports on your computer, using the Serial Manager, select View -> Ports

Four fields of information are displayed:

Port
The name of the serial port. For standard serial ports, this is one of term/00 (COM1), term/01 (COM2), term/02 (COM3), or term/03 (COM4) with a suffix letter indicating what type of flow control is being used with the port. See ``Serial device node naming conventions'' for more information about the naming conventions of serial port device nodes.

Logins
Whether logging in is enabled or disabled on the port. See sacadm(1M) and ``Administering port monitors'' for more information on enabling and disabling port monitors.

Speed
The speed in bits per second (bps) of the port. If the speed of the port is set automatically or a mouse is being used with the port, no speed is displayed.

Description
A description of the serial port's configuration.
