Managing Hot Plugable controllers

Turning slot power off

If a driver is bound to a controller, you must suspend the driver instance before power can be turned off to its slot. If the controller supports multiple devices, you must suspend each driver instance bound to a device. See ``Suspending a driver instance''.

To turn power off for a slot, select a slot, then select Operations -> Power Off .

When a slot containing a hot plugable controller is successfully powered off, the Power indicator turns grey. Inside the machine, the power LED next to the slot turns off (if your machine has one).

NOTE: You can use Options -> Preferences to enable a confirmation dialog before turning power off, or to specify that slots should be automatically powered-off when the driver instance for the controller in a slot has been suspended.
