Prerequisites for installing the hbacert package
The following are required before installing
the hbacert suite:
-
SVR5 installed.
-
System running under test with VXFS as the root filesystem.
-
The following SVR5 packages must be installed:
Base System (base)
Enhanced Application Compatibility (acs)
Optimizing C Compilation System (ccs)
-
Individual tests may have additional prerequisites.
These are described along with the tests themselves, in
``Individual test descriptions''.
-
When certifying a storage device,
it must be used to install the operating system
in addition to passing the corresponding test suite.
For a hard disk,
this means that the operating system must be installed on
and booted from the device being tested.
-
When certifying a SCSI HBA,
you must have sufficient devices attached to your system to exercise
the functions of the driver and run the certification tests.
For example, for an HBA driver that supports CDROM,
disk, tape, and floppy devices, the following devices should be
configured on the test system:
the HBA device being tested
1 CD-ROM drive
1 tape drive
2 hard disks (at least 500 MB capacity each)
1 floppy drive
-
Drivers must be certified on a multiprocessor configuration.
At a minimum, a sanity test must be performed on a uniprocessor
configuration. This can be simulated on an MP machine by
installing without the OSMP package
