SURF kernel monitor

Running SURF

To run SURF:

  1. Build a kernel that includes the surf driver.

  2. Run surfd(SURF) locally on the machine being monitored. surfd can be run with netexec(P_ADM) or the binary can be located locally.

  3. Run a user-level program to ``consume'' and report the SURF data. This program can either be run on the local machine or on a remote machine that has a TCP connection to the machine being monitored. You can write monitoring programs using the API documented on the surfconnect(SURF), surfevent(SURF), and surffile(SURF) manual pages.
