Changes to BTLDs for SCO OpenServer 5 Release 5
The format of BTLD disks which have been produced
using CDMT has changed slightly for SCO OpenServer 5 Release 5:
-
BTLD disks which contain custom-installable
drivers also contain a software storage object (SSO)
under the /opt hierarchy.
-
custom requires the presence of component control
scripts (ccs scripts) in the SSO to
install a driver.
-
BTLDs no longer require the presence of an
./install/INSTALL script. We recommend that
custom is used to install Driver files into the Link Kit
after the system has booted, rather than using the btld
bootstring at boot time.
See
``Packaging SCO OpenServer 5 drivers for installation''
for more information about packaging BTLDs for
for SCO OpenServer 5 Release 5.
