NFB
No Frame Buffer, which refers to
the intelligent graphics chip architecture
used to speed the performance of the X Window System
by moving many I/O operations
to the graphics chip itself.
NFB also refers to the API
provided for SVR5, SCO OpenServer 5, and AIX 5L systems
that allows the DDX layer
of a graphics driver to implement software
that takes advantage of the faster hardware
without understanding the internals of the X server.
