Creating help files for network driver configuration

HTML format

Online documentation and context-sensitive help is provided in files formatted for HyperText Markup Language (HTML). The online help system -- SCOhelp -- is based on Netscape^® Navigator^® Release 3.0. You can create and maintain your document source in any format you wish; many authoring tools include HTML conversion utilities. However, the target HTML files must conform to Guidelines and be viewable under Netscape Navigator Release 3.0.

Some HTML tags are required:

<HTML> at the beginning of each HTML file and </HTML> at the end.
<HEAD> just after <HTML> and </HEAD> after the last of the header information.
<SCRIPT> and </SCRIPT> as part of the <HEAD> section. The lines of JavaScript code in this section correct some limitations in Netscape 3.0; for more information, see ``JavaScript enhancements''.
<TITLE> and </TITLE> as part of the <HEAD> section. This title will appear in the window border.
<H1> and </H1> as part of the <BODY> section. This title will appear in a listing of installed network adapter drivers.
<BODY> and </BODY> surrounding the content.
<HREF= > tags for mandatory hotlinks.

Other HTML tags are optional depending on the content.

The template and sample files provided with this document illustrate proper usage for online documentation. If you adhere to the style of these examples, a detailed understanding of HTML guidelines is not necessary.
