Driver configuration
All network cards and drivers for SVR5 and SCO OpenServer 5
are configured with the Network Configuration Manager.
MDI driver writers must provide configuration files
to interface with the Network Configuration Manager:
SVR5-
Populate a
bcfg(DSP/4dsp)
file with configuration information
about the MDI driver and device.
SCO OpenServer 5-
Populate an Adapter Options File (AOF)
and a driver-specific lkcfg file
with configuration information
about the MDI driver and device.
Some driver packages will also need to provide
a customized acfg.c file for the driver.
By making information such as the
I/O address, IRQ, RAM address and size,
ROM address and size, DMA ports,
media type and speed, and custom tunable parameters
available through the bcfg file,
customers can configure drivers
by running the Network Configuration Manager
rather than editing
Space.c(DSP/4dsp)
files and rebuilding the drivers.
This provides consistency for
all MDI driver configurations.
