Open Source Tool Kit
The Open Source Tool Kit is the initial supported release of Open Source tools
for Open UNIX 8 Release 8.0.
The Open Source Tool Kit (OSTK) is
-
logical follow-on to the Skunkware programs
-
a release of supported add-on products for Caldera SVR5 UNIX operating systems
-
latest released version of each tool
-
works alongside the OUDK 8.0 or UDK 7.1.1 (with these caveats)
-
uses native linker and C runtime
-
GNU C objects and OUDK objects can be intermixed
-
C++ objects or libraries CANNOT be intermixed.
The Open Source Tool Kit includes:

GNU gcc 2.95.3pl1 Compiler collection - gcc, g++ and g77

GNU binutils 2.10.1 Assembler and object file utilities

GNU gdb 5.0pl1 GNU debugger

GNU make 3.79.1 Make utility (gmake)

GNU m4 1.4 Macro Processor

GNU gawk 3.0.6 GNU awk text processor

GNU bison 1.28 GNU parser generator (yacc replacement)A

GNU texinfo 4.0 Documentation system and browser
Additional tools will be added in future releases, and updates will be
made available for the tools included in this release.
The Open Source Tool Kit can be installed and is supported on Open
UNIX 8 Release 8.0 and UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.1.
It is not supported on any UnixWare 7 release prior to Release 7.1.1, but
users may, at their discretion, chose to experiment with the tools on
earlier releases.
