The general intent of user-level compatibility in UnixWare is to provide shell script compatibility for SCO OpenServer applications. With this in mind, command compatibility between SCO OpenServer and UnixWare has been addressed in several ways:
Here's what to do to create a shell environment more like that on SCO OpenServer:
OSRCMDS=on export OSRCMDSSetting the OSRCMDS environment variable in the current process environment causes the shell to invoke the SCO OpenServer versions of some commands that are found in /OpenServer/bin.
See for lists of the SCO OpenServer Release 5 commands provided with UnixWare 7, equivalents for commands not provided, and other user compatibility information.
See ``Directory and file relocations'' for a list of common system directories and files, and where they are located on SCO OpenServer Release 5 and UnixWare 7.
