Application compatibility exceptions
The following is a list of general compatibility exceptions:
-
Drivers (binaries) installed by applications will not work.
-
Specific OpenServer system calls are not supported, such as:
security & SUDS (aio, sem, latch, timers).
However, most applications try using alternatives if such calls are not
available.
-
Applications packaged in custom+/SSOs format will not run.
-
SCO OpenServer terminfo files are not provided, but can be easily
brought forward from /usr/lib/terminfo on SCO OpenServer.
For shell scripts and commands, see
for lists of the SCO OpenServer commands provided with UnixWare, and
command equivalents for those SCO OpenServer commands that are not
provided with UnixWare.
For binaries, differences in interfaces that could not be taken care
of either in the kernel, native libraries, or ported /OpenServer
libraries are listed in the compatibility tables for the appropriate
library or system call.
See
``Base kernel compatibility''
and
``API compatibility''.
